My Lesson Plan reflections
In my lesson plan, I realized that I needed to add in prompts so that the students would know what to do next. I reflected on my passed experiences, whereby I received prompts on how to proceed in an online environment. I remembered receiving a document called an "Advising Document". This document is used by The University of the West Indies Open Campus. This document informs or prompt you on a sequence of events that you as a student should follow step by step in order to be successful in your academic program. As a result, I created one for my lifelong learners who work on their own an advising document. This document would act as a prompt to guide Management students through the blended learning lesson. See below Management Skills - Lesson Advising Document.
What is reflective
practice?
In my reflections, in the execution of the Management Skills lesson plan in the sandbox, I realized that I used two reflection models to create my online lesson. Schon (1991) Reflection-In-Action (as I followed the lesson plan design). Reflection-On-Action (as I critiqued the online lesson layout). Kolb (1984) experience from learning, as I troubleshooted the lesson flow, items that may be missing, and what solutions or action is needed. I reflected on what I have experienced in the past as my point of reference to inform the process.

My Lesson Plan reflections
In
module 4, the video on Online Writing and Reflection Activities which outlined
using various digital tools within a lesson, such as wikis, blogs and social media.  These tools encourage meaningful reflection activities
in an online class (Bury & Bonk, 2014). It also dealt with assessment
schemes.
This video connected with my blended learning class, with the reflective lesson plan using two digital tools to engage in the reflective writing activities online. The two digital tools: Blogs, and online wiki.
Using Schon (1991) reflection model, reflection-on-action. I reflected on my lesson for a blended learning class of lifelong learners (ages 18 to 65).  The Unit Subject is Leadership & Management. The Topic is Management Skills.  I realized that I needed to include a lesson recap of the prior lesson. Therefore, I added in an Introduction to the lesson called a recap of the last lesson with a YouTube video clip. See link https://youtu.be/ofVyagrblgI

The materials and
activities I will use to open the lesson. The Bold is for any materials I will
need to prepare for the lesson.
For example:
·         I will use YouTube video clip to recap
the last lesson
·         I will use Powtoon to introduce the
lesson objectives to engage students the topic/ discussion to describe their
management skills.
Time Needed - 5 minutes
I adjusted the lesson plan to now include the YouTube video Clip.
The objectives were animated using Powtoon to introduce the lesson objectives to engage students in the topic/ discussion - management skills. It provided a flow to the lesson using various forms of digital media. See video below

After the design /construction of my lesson into to an online lesson in the sandbox platform, I realized that an Item was missing.  I examined the layout of the online lesson, and placed myself in the Management students "shoes".  How would the students receive this layout with the location of the information and materials to be covered in this 120 minutes lessons.
I troubleshooted the lesson for these key elements:
- Easy location of the information that is required for each activity
 - Activity appropriate for age level and the task to be performed
 - The two reflective digital tools were suited for the task
 - The correct type of testing being used for the task (formative vs. summative)
 - Directions provided
 - Where the activity/task information is to be written
 - How the activity would be marked rubrics
 - Homework instructions
 - Extra resources, e.g. APA formatting Guide
 - Late Submission of work
 - Technical/ computer skills required

I then realized that I missed the conclusion or wrap up of the lesson prompt.  Therefore, I created a  voice note.

I would give a summary of this lesson.
In this lesson you would of discussed the purpose
of Management skills & Schon (1991) reflective model
- Applied Schon reflective model within
     your work context.
 - You would of taken and Analyzed your
Management Skills test. Then post the response to your online wiki.
 - Created an online blog and blog post

Now that you have
completed this entire lesson- you would of used reflection tools like
quizzes in the form of multiply choice, and true false question which you were
given 2 attempts to achieve mastery. You would of also been exposed to use
some reflective digital tools such as online wiki, and blog. The wiki and the
blog were used to encourage you as managers to use Schon (1991) reflective
model to reflect on your management skills practices.
- For your homework your will. And post comments to other students post, on their blog site. See homework portion of this lesson.

Remember as
new managers, matured managers or aspiring managers you can reflect on
your management skills practices and take action.( END of Script).
Jones and Cookson (2001) noted that reflective styles “are in
danger of being used inflexibly as a series of steps to be followed, as a
prescription or as a shopping list” (p. 77). I feel that some educators may
believe that all stages must be processed before effective learning can take
place. But I do not feel that way. I feel that any reflective model cycle can
be stopped at any point. In fact, two models may be utilized to accomplish one
task.
Fig. 1 Kolb (1984) Reflective Cycle - Experience from Learning Model
I used elements that were required for me to complete the task, and in many instances it flows seamless into one or a set of actions.  Reflection on reflective practices  Schön model (1991) and Kolb (1984) Reflective Cycle  can be combined.
In my development as an educator using the reflective reflexive models, I have also come to realize that when designing a lesson for lifelong learners or any age category of learners, that you should:
Social Media
For my personal development, I used social media in the form of Instagram to post a reflective writing content. See Instagram link https://www.instagram.com/p/B- UnpfIBd7y/?igshid=1q4jygdc0x0n v
Visit my Instagram page stacy.sargent.52
This was a new experience for me, as my reflective writing on social media is abbreviated. I discovered that if I am to teach in online environment, I need to know how to used various digital tools including social media to encourage my students reflective writing.
I tried using Facebook, but the link require students to login in. Some students my not have a Facebook account. https://www.facebook.com/58723 0338/posts/10157749923790339/? d=n   In contrast , Instagram just linked to my reflective content.  This was a learning point for me.
In my development as an educator using the reflective reflexive models, I have also come to realize that when designing a lesson for lifelong learners or any age category of learners, that you should:
- reflect on the success previous lessons learnt
 - see what when wrong/right
 - Make adjustments/enrichment
 - Select multiple methods to engage students to be critical reflective thinkers.
 - Provide clear instructions so that the students are not confused
 - Troubleshoot the layout of the online course design
 - Insure that the necessary documents are provided
 - the activities, tasks, and digital tools are suited for the correct age level.
